Weekend on a Batangas Beach

I can't recall whether it was planned a month before, or it was settled one weekend when we decided to drink and somebody was like, 'Let's go Batangas next weekend' kind of thing. I'm not really sure.

On our way to Batangas, along Star Tollway, a little mishap happened that took much of our time and led us instead to Tanauan Police Station.

Happy Mother's Day!

I believe that she was in her 20's with this vintage photo. Blooming, dashing, beautiful and all the things that can define sophistication, it is all in her.

We Speak No Ilocano: Ilocos Norte. In & Out

It was around 5 in the morning when we woke up, we ate breakfast and rush to the terminal to Laoag. We really want to get in Pagudpud early, so we can go to more places.

First stop: Kabigan Falls. We walked for almost 1.2 kms. on our way up there. We passed through plain fields, statures close to a cliff, rivers and strong stoned rocks, but we made it. The falls is not flattering when you first see it, but after what you have been through all the way up here, it is overwhelming. The water is beyond cold, we were chilling.

We Speak No Ilocano: Paoay & Paoay Church

After staying in Sta. Maria for two good mouthful days, we decided to go Paoay, still in Ilocos Sur. We are hitchhikers, we tagged along with Germaine’s aunt on our way up and they are too kind to drop us exactly where we are going to.

We Speak No Ilocano: Baluarte & Vigan City

Land of Ilokandia

This late February, we decided to go to Ilocos Sur for our friend’s birthday celebration, Germaine, and their house blessing. We have been friends since highschool and very comfortable to each other, so having almost a week with them is okay.

Since being there for
some quite time, we have this very spontaneous plan going up farther to Ilocos Norte.

And the adventure awaits.

Partners in Crime: Bouquet & Garter Specialists

The thing is, we are strangers to each other. We were like cousins of cousins, and sometimes through that we don’t seem to care each other. Until our rendezvous happened, weddings.
The first time we met was last 2007. December of that year, the wedding of my cousin, the bride, and her cousin, the groom. I was the groomsman and she was a guest. In that case, a simple Hi was the highest gesture of introduction. Until the moment came in.
At the wedding reception, I have no idea why they were calling me and other male cousins. I thought it was just a game, you win and then you’ll a get a prize. But that’s not it, it’s actually the time they are looking for the one who is going to do the garter. And yes, I thought picking me was not by chance, but choice. And the same thing happened with the bouquet. She was picked, too.

When All Else Fail, We Fly.

Although it will take you a lot of effort, I still believe on the myth of The Thousand Cranes. Imagine them glowing and flying around you, you look so amazed and mesmerized and one mythical figure comes out, asking you for one wish.

Manny Pacquiao: The Legendary Pound for Pound King.

I think Manny 'Pacman' Pacquaio deserves a salute. He continually brings honor and put the 7, 107 islands of the Philippines in the map. Wow! Big things really come in small packages, it's like Filipino David is continually knocking out all the Mexican Goliaths. I have not enough knowledge in boxing, but as long as Manny looks good and still in shape to finish 12 rounds, I have no doubt on him winning.

I Choose. People's Choice Awards.

Since 1975, the People's Choice Awards recognize people and the work of popular culture. Before, the awards are decided through Gallup Polls, where they conduct public opinion polls in many countries to come up with votes. And through that, sometimes they have ties in one category and they were both announced as winners. But today, they reached the online voting. Easier and very accessible for the voters.

... and I voted:

Excuse My French!

"Merveilleux!
